Creatives Carving for Kids.

GUTS is a friendly pumpkin carving competition, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It was originally created by CRAFTED out of Charlotte, North Carolina. This event has spread around the country, and  AIGA Indianapolis is bringing Guts to Naptown again!

This community-building event and competition taking place on October 15th 2017, is a platform to bring designers, creatives, and community members together for a fun, pumpkin carving party, while lifting spirits and granting wishes for the brave kids at Make-A-Wish.

The primary goal of this event is to unify the creative community in support of this worthy and meaningful charity, with ALL proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

And...we need YOU!

We're currently looking for Volunteers to serve various roles before, during and after GUTS!

First, here is the GUTS "day-of" schedule:

Sunday, October 15th, 2017
10:30am-1:00pm - Event Setup (Setup Crew)
1:00pm-1:30pm - Carvers Set Up (Individual & Team Carvers)
1:30pm - GUTS opens & Carving begins!
                Activities Include:
                - Pumpkin Carving
                - Raffles
                - Food & Beverage Sales
                - Ticket Sales & Donations
                - Art With A Heart Activities (Face Painting, etc.)
3:00pm - Carving ends
3:15pm - Judging, People's Choice Voting, Silent Auction
3:45pm - Awards
4:00pm - Event closes
4:00pm-6:00pm - Event Tear down (Tear down Crew)

We're looking for all kinds of Volunteers to plug in wherever and whenever you can! Excited? Still interested?

AIGA Indy is currently looking for engaged people like you to help out in the following ways:

1. Event Setup Team
Responsible for setting up tables, table cloths, chairs, trash cans, raffle items, merchandise, etc.

2. Event Tear Down Team
Responsible for tearing down tables, table cloths, chairs, trash cans, etc.

3. Wayfinding & Promo Team
Responsible for hanging parking signage, carver signage, posters, etc.

4. Docents (aka: Greeters & Guides)
Responsible for greeting folks as they arrive, showing them around the event, and pointing them in the right direction

5. Silent Auction Lead
Responsible for coordinating bid sheet placement and retrieval of bid sheets

6. Merchandise Lead
Responsible for overseeing the merchandise setup, displays and sales

7. Carver Check-in & Guides
Responsible for checking-in carvers, presenting them with materials, showing them to their table/s, and being on-hand to answer any questions about rules during the event

8. Scoring Lead
Responsible for collecting the Judge's score sheets and tallying the scores to determine winners; reviewing bid sheets for highest individual bid and highest team bid

9. Art With A Heart Assistants
Responsible for working directly with the Art With A Heart folks, assisting with check out and any other needs
